Quicknote makes it easy to jot down whatever comes to mind. Write down a random thought, sketch something or copy and paste a URL. Not just for taking notes either: set reminders, access programs, change volume, even perform calculations with Quicknote.
Quicknote: one handy dandy piece of software
Before Quicknote: If I was struck with an idea while I was at my computer, I would actually write it down on a piece of scrap paper because it was less of hassle than trying to open a new file in my word processor. Now, instead of having random pieces of paper to shuffle through, I got Quicknote, which is like a virtual piece of scrap paper for your PC, only much more easy to access and organize. With no complicated start up or save processes, Quicknote allows you to quickly write down whatever comes to mind, copy and paste text or URL, and even sketch something out.
While it works great as "virtual scrapbook", Quicknote is more than just a place to record your random thoughts, it also contains a sleek reminder tool that allows you to set daily or weekly reminders, run programs, or even shut down your machine. It also features a unit converter, volume control, a task manager, quick access to frequently run programs, you can even send notes and files to other computers in your network with scrappy little program. It also has a calculations tool that has a neat feature that allows you to find the HTML code of any color on your screen.
When you are not using it, Quicknote is a little white dash on the top of your computer screen. When you need it, simply drag your mouse over it and it will instantly appear, allowing you to jot down your random thoughts quickly and easily. I like all the features of this freeware, even the focusless input function that allows you to record text from other windows (although you may want to turn it off when you are dealing with something confidential).
Quicknote has quickly become a useful tool that I find myself using more and more often throughout the day.
